Tea in the middle of winter '13

The freeze of winter has arrived, the lake is freezing fast with sub zero temps.  The customers are hunkering down to get past the next few weeks of winter.  I am moving my location soon to an area with more customer traffic and visibility.  No set location as of now, but more to follow.  Favorite customer teas for January are the Black Apricot and Vanilla Oolong.  Kombucha is still going strong, and some internet sales of new Royal Albert in box cups have been welcomed. Let's get pumped up for a great 2013!

Happy sipping,

Blue Moon or Harvest Moon, a tea of my liking

Hello,

My apologies for not blogging for a while. Now as the summer comes to a close I reflect back of favorite teas. Pu-erh, Golden Tip has to be my top pick. I have some vintage 7 year old Pu-erh from Hong Kong, still the Golden Tip wins out.  Of the bubble teas, pineapple, taro and then Matcha. My drink for healing has to be continuous brewed Kombucha I up drinking quite a bit, my need to back off a bit, but love how it makes me feel. I call it the Red Bull of tea.  Keep drinking teas, its a decorum of sorts that has held on for decades.  The Olympics was quite a boost for tea drinking.
Finally, is it called harvest moon or blue moons when we have two full moons in one month? Um

The end of July tea choices

Well as July passes by the big phenomenon for me in tea has to be Bubble Tea. I call it the tea that is not a tea.  I now have 16 flavors from melons like watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew too berries like strawberry, raspberry and blueberry to exotics like Taro, almond and Matcha to name a few. My favorite has to be pineapple, that reminds me of pineapple upside down cake. Then there the bobas or pearls, regular tapioca with Carmel, brown and white sugar, strawberry, mango, and orange. All shaken over ice not stirred to become a fun and thirst quenching summer drink. My favorite tea is still the Pu-erh, Golden Tip and then there is Kombucha the "Red Bull" of tea; if there is a youth elixir this is it. Welcome August, summer is in full swing.

More than tea

As a tea purveyor, what else are you doing to promote tea?  What are you doing that's contributing to the community? We are doing a local community garden and I am developing a bubble tea with fresh chocolate mint.  As a traditionalist, sipping Darjeeling yum... Lots of bubble tea drinks, blueberry is the new big hit!  Giving a talk on tisanes next month and how they compliment tea. Any suggestions welcomed, feel free to give input.  Will the drought or possible drought affect tea down the road?  Something to ponder.

Oolong kind of day

Well another scorching hot day 90's + and sipping Ti Kwan Yin oolong, not my fave but revisiting reminds me there are several grades of Ti Kwan Yin.  My all time favorite is the Milk Oolong which has priced its way out of my budget.  Bubble Teas are still on the rise! New flav Royal Cin a man Ice Tea, makes my nieces laugh every time they say it, soon to come; Mojhito Mango Mint and Strawberry Passion.  Still slurping my Kombucha, this stuff is so crazy, not your typical tea, but it makes me feel great.

Tea time once again

Wow it's seems like months since I blogged, confused and lost trying to tie my blog to website, and it did not work.  Sipping Forever Spring Oolong, yes even in hot summer I enjoy hot tea. My cold drink of choice is Kombucha, I have gotten past the vinegar nose and the way it makes me feel or not feel is worth it. No joint pain, great probiotic, smooth skin, still waiting for hair to grow back and change from gray to black, when that happens I will tell the world.  Great bubble tea menu has developed, with the help of a new friend Nick from MN. Wow, I feel as if I have been under a rock and society has passed me by.  Creating some new fun flavors! More to follow. Tea cup sales online have been generous, did not realize what a collection of Royal Albert Tea cups I had.
